Wasn't Brexit supposed to reduce bureaucracy? This sounds more like an explosion in bureaucracy. It also only covers the state side of it, not the business side.

And wasn't Brexit supposed to save money? Well, let's say the 50,000 extra staff fully costed (ie including overhead, pension contributions, employer social security contributions etc) cost £30,000 per year. Which I think is optimistic, it's more likely to be more. Still, even at only £30k/year per head that's £1,500,000,000 per year. That's over 4 Brexit battle buses per year (Remember the £350M/week claim on the bus...). 4 buses we're not going to spend on the NHS, but on bureaucracy. Oh, and don't forget, this is only for the state side, not the costs business will have to bear. Which I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same again, or more. So that's 8 buses in additional bureaucracy costs every year. Or two months of the annual EU contributions (as overstated by the Leave campaign, as in reality after the rebate and the amounts the UK got back it was far less. Meaning it's probably more like half of the net annual EU contributions by the UK).

I agree, Brexit is about more than making a quick pound from shortening the pound. It's about much more, much much more. And all for the benefit of the rich and wealthy Brexiteers, while most of the population will suffer from higher prices and more.
Problem is, most Leave voters will only see this when it is too late. If ever.

Oh, come on, won't hurt him one bit. His supporters will just dismiss it with something along the lines of "it's only our money we're getting back". That's their argument for any money the UK gets back from the EU, "it's our money anyway, at least once we're out of the EU we can decide ourselves where it goes". That it will then disappear in some big Westminster budget and the poorer communities who currently most benefit of EU money won't get anything is beyond them. We need to do better than "look, a Brexiteer is benefiting from EU money". It doesn't work.

The story of the worst, yet most elusive, counterfeiter.

The 70-year-old retiree who became America’s worst counterfeiter

Bild/Foto
In 1938, a New York cigar shop owner went to the bank to cash his daily profits.

As the teller sifted through the haul, she spotted an unusual $1 bill. It felt like cheap paper in her hands, the lettering was askew, and George Washington looked more like an animated corpse than a noble head of state. It was, no doubt, the worst counterfeit she’d seen in all her years.

The bill was sent to the United States Secret Service. Soon, thousands more just like it came pouring in, each more abysmal than the last.

For 10 years, agents searched far and wide for the source, launching the most extensive (and expensive) counterfeit investigation in American history. The culprit was deemed to be “the most successful counterfeiter of modern times” — a mastermind.

But the bills were made by no master: They were the work of a 73-year-old junk collector.

Well, there's someone who won't suffer from the results of Brexit.....
He'll be able to afford significantly more expensive food and other things. Or he will just bugger off to the US where he will get a cushy job at Fox News or something similar. Leaving his voters to suffer the consequences of the impossible dream he sold them with all his lies....

Well, that's one way to balance the budget. All this money will have to go somewhere and it will be the Treasury's coffers. Of course they won't use it to help the general population, instead it will be used to pay for all the increased Brexit bureaucracy.
