I have done my duty operating the machine. As the hooks leave my flesh, the fog lifts and I head home.
My skin is sore, my bones hurt, my mind is empty. The maniacal laugh of the machine echoes back and forth.
I need to lick my wounds.
I need distraction.
I will be back, I promise.
