Schau dir "WIKITONGUES: Vernell speaking Texas German" auf YouTube an https://youtu.be/1_dH403pqRU

Funny, various (northern) German dialects mixed with an American English accent. But for me as German very well to understand.

Ariel Cohen-Goldberg auf Twitter: "By now you've probably seen the vitriol against "irregardless" being considered a "real word". I wanted to discuss the actual science (linguistics) behind words like this because quite frankly, it's beautiful and a little surprising. 🧵 https://t.co/sdliyTfhdZ" / Twitter

I wonder what the ********* who put up these posters has to say about all the Brits moving to Spain and France (mainly) to retire in the sun but never bother to learn any of the local lingo (not to mention eating only English food at English pubs while reading English language newspapers).....

Police called in after poster tells residents of flats to speak English

How did you find your #diaspora pod?

Hey folks, I'm a little nosy and like to find out how your experience of diaspora* began.
I am trying to do a poll with most relevant options but as always, you cannot think about every option so please be clement :).

So this poll I ask you how you found your pod. On another poll I asked you how you initially heard of diaspora*. Checkout the #pollsondiasporaexperience hashtag.

Feel free to reshare this but remember: You cannot vote with the mobile interface nor on reshares. So to vote, please visit the origin post with desktop view :)

A very good instant primer. All I would add is a mention of all the absurd hypercorrections to both real and supposed words of Greek origin leading to all the "ph" nonsense we see today, and the transposition "hw" -> "wh" where we now spell a whole group of words one way round and pronounce them oppositely. #SeeWhatIDidThere
