I posted this thing two years ago.. but since it's time to posting chilean culture, I repost it again
This one is a song of #Chilote Folklore; a sub culture from th Great Island of Chiloe, #Chile, culture which I belong.

The most of #Chiloe people had made their settlements on Chilean Patagonia; so, chilote Culture has great influence on it.

It tells the story of an impossible love due difference of social classes among a guy -called Corazón de Escarcha (Frostheart)- and the patron's daughter until something extraordinary happened. It's a classical song from Chiloe and the Chilean Patagonia. This kind of compositions is known as vals chilote (chilote vals)

Some useful linksEnglish translation made by myself.

Corazón de Escarcha

I.
fría la mirada, frío el corazón;
II.
Niña tan bonita, como las estrellas,
sólo en los jardines se puede encontrar;
III.
Sólo por mirarla, sólo por quererla,
lo echó una mañana, furioso el patrón;
un pobre ovejero, ¿cómo iba a fijarse
en hija tan linda, un mísero peón?
IV.
Por el ventisquero, por Tierra del Fuego,
Corazón de Escarcha sólo se perdió;
y oro a manos llenas Escarcha encontró.
V.
VII.
Sólo por mirarla, solo por quererla
lo echó una mañana, furioso el patrón;
un pobre ovejero, ¿cómo iba a fijarse
en hija tan linda un mísero peón?
VIII.
Por el ventisquero, por Tierra del Fuego,
Corazón de Escarcha sólo se perdió;
y oro a manos llenas, Escarcha encontró.
“Frostheart”
I.
Frostheart left the shire,
cold the look, cold the heart;
all the peonage feels the sheepherder,
whom the employer’s daughter loved the most.
II.
Girl as pretty as the stars,
only in the gardens you can find her;
their ancestors, the old sealion hunters,
whom cradled her crib, the moon and the sea.
III.
Just for looking at her, just for loving her,
the angry boss fired him one morning;
a poor sheepherder, how was he,a miserable pawn, going to look
the employer’s beautiful daughter ?
IV.
Through the snowdrift, through Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire),
Frostheart, alone, was lost;
and went to search gold in painful march
and gold was lavishly found by Frostheart.
V.
But the gods’s pantheon and the bad years
they changed the luck of the old patron,
One morning, he arrivied to Frostheart’s ranch,
with her daughter asking “shelter, for God’s sake!”
VI.
And on that poor sheepherder’s little ranch
where so much pain reigned,
Two souls joined by fire kiss,
and under the snow they sing to love.
VII.
Just for looking at her, just for loving her,
the angry boss fired him one morning;
a poor sheepherder, how was he,a miserable pawn, going to look
the employer’s beautiful daughter ?
VIII.
Through the snowdrift, through Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire),
Frostheart, alone, was lost;
and went to search gold in painful march
and gold was lavishly found by Frostheart.

It's September! It means The Independence Month!!

As I am the only Chilean in diaspora proud of his own lineage (the others just talk of politics) I feel in the moral duty to spread my own culture to the world

Each year we remember our path to drop the Spanish Crown from our little piece of Land. That path began on September 18th, 1810 and after a 8 long years we could be free. (But the last place on the power of the Spanish Crown was Chiloe Island, which was incorporated to the Republic Of Chile in 1826).

Cueca is the chilean national dance. In September many use the chilean traditional outfit (huaso) to dance it, but this could vary according the zone of Chile.

It came from Peru, in 1824, but there it was extinguished and here it survived to evolve and transforming in what it's now.

First she took Berlin, now she takes Manhattan

Deshalb also das Sabbatical.

Frei nach dem Motto: "Make the world Greta again" statt "Make America great again".
