Almost all of my posts are public, just because I want them to be public and thus findable. The search function in Diaspora is hilarious - it finds only users and hashtags.
I cannot even search for my own posts.
It turns out that here at pluspora, search engines are blocked for privacy concerns
Now the effect is that mostly anything older than 2 days is gone. I find this unacceptable and want to ask the podmins of pluspora to re-think
Am I the only one who wants a searchable pluspora?
Last year I had compiled some statistics here on pluspora to illustrate that Germany has two sets of problems, from different societal, economical and whatnot structures in the eastern and western parts. Unsurprisingly, a year after, these persist. (And I can't find my old posting, search is abysmally bad.) Here's the rerun, done by the UK's Guardian: 'Germany looks like it's still divided': stark gaps persist 30 years after reunification. Sobering studies for October anniversary show many in east feel like second-class citizens (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/16/germany-east-west-gaps-persist-30-years-reunification) #germany #society #statisticspluspora.com
